  • Financial Assistance: A one-time financial aid of ₹3,000 is provided directly to the beneficiary’s bank account.
  • Purpose: The funds are intended to help seniors purchase essential medical and physical aids such as:
    • Spectacles (glasses)
    • Hearing aids
    • Wheelchairs or folding walkers
    • Commode chairs
    • Walking sticks/Tripods
    • Knee braces or cervical collars.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Age: Applicant must be 65 years or older.
  • Residency: Must be a permanent resident of Maharashtra.
  • Income Status: Generally targeted at senior citizens from Below Poverty Line (BPL) or low-income families.

Required Documents

To apply, you will typically need the following:

  • Aadhaar Card (must be linked to your bank account).
  • Proof of Age (Birth certificate, school leaving certificate, or Voter ID).
  • Income Certificate (issued by the Tehsildar).
  • Bank Passbook (Xerox copy showing the IFSC code).
  • Passport-size Photographs.
  • Self-Declaration (stating you haven’t received similar benefits from other schemes)

How to Apply

  • Offline: You can submit your application at the Social Welfare Department (Samaj Kalyan Vibhag) at the district or taluka level, or visit your local Tehsildar Office.
  • Online: Applications can often be processed through the Aaple Sarkar portal via authorized CSC (Common Service Centers).
